End of the Cup

A disspointing day for the Magpies against the division 5 Cup Holders, we knew it was always going to be a difficult trip to Tonna RFC and fair play to them they didn't let us down, a fit, well drilled squad took the Magpies by surprise, with quick ball from their forwards and slight hands from the backs, sore the home side run in 4 tries, in the first 20 minutes, 28-0. With not alot going Bracklas way, we could tell this was going to be a tough day at the office.

Half time Tonna RFC 40- 0 Brackla RFC

With some changes made at half time, and the forwards taking matters into their own hands, the Magpies did mange to settle the home side down, keeping the second half alot closer, Rob Davies went over for the our 1st Try of the game 40-7, some questionable decisions went against us again in the second half, seeing Mike Punter, given a yellow card and the Magpies going down to 14 men, needless to say the home side took advantage of this and went over for 2 more tries of their own.... The Magpies dug deep to keep the continued pressure at bay, showing our strength in front of our own line.

A tired, frustrated Brackla squad held them at bay for most of the 2nd half, but the home side finished strong, with what seemed like everything going thier way, not alot could go wrong, for Tonna RFC today, they ran in 2 more consecutive tries to finish the game, it really was Tonnas day today.

All in all, the fitter, better drilled team won on the day..... We move on to our next game and full concentration is now on the league.... We have a lot to work on, and push for the promotion spot
